- Revised 18 Feb 2005 -
18 Feb 2005
- Recuperating - Art Zieske
- Art Zieske is recuperating from
prostate surgery performed the day before Mardi Gras. Lab results came
back negative. Art is doing extremely well and on way to full recovery.
15 April 2004
- We received word today from Art Field's wife that Art has hospitalized
with heart problems. Here is what she had to report, "He had to be shocked
back to life. After three tries his heart stated again. He has been in the
hospital and is now back home recovering. It will take time for his
recovery. His condition is now stable but guarded. His condition is not
good and he requires constant attention, but with time and care the
doctors say that he will recover. He asks about his many friends and would
like to hear from them. Please do not try and contact him via e-mail
because after this message I will close down his computer. If you wish to
call our phone number is 318 798-0550."
6 February 2004 - The
officers and members of Chapter XXX share in the sorrow of the Ralph and
Janet Peterson family in the loss of their eldest son, Lee. The Peterson's

February 9. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that those wishing to
do so, make contributions in Lee's name to a either a Cancer Research or
Drug Rehabilitation charitable organization.
10 January 2004 -
Passing of Don Cannon - It is with deep regret that learn of the passing
of Don Cannon on January 8, 2004. He was 78 years old. Jim McCurry
advises that he suffered from a massive heart attack at Our Lady of the
Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
"Don always came to our meetings and
functions in Baton Rouge. He was limited in mobility due to losing his
leg several years ago. Don retired from the U.S. Army as a MAJ with 28
years of service; an airborne veteran of WWII before joining the Louisiana
National Guard and serving with Det. B, Co. D, 20th SF Group. Don was one
of the original members of Co. D when it was organized; an old timer with
the BR "B" Team, running with Arthur "Paw" Folse, Bill Waters, Buddy
Gautreau, Lester Poirrier, Bob Wales and Fred Dent back in the early
60's."
- Jim McCurry
13 Nov 2003 - Vernon
Carnahan's daughter advised us that her father passed away on 6/18/02. She
was kind enough to respond to a recent Chapter mailing to advise us.
